Weight-Loss Blog
Susan bought a copy of Paul McKenna's "I can make you THIN" book with free weight-loss CD, really cheaply, from Cygnus Books. Cover price is £9.99; Cygus have it for £5.95. Mind you, Amazon has it for £5.99, and we get commission from Amazon!
It's brilliant, so I thought I'd keep you up to date here with my progress. I only started to use it on Tuesday (22nd March 2005), so I can't record massive weight loss yet (it's only Thursday morning!), but I can report that my eating habits seem to have changed instantly! And that's pretty amazing value for £5.99 plus post and packing.
I put the success down to the CD. It never mentions the word "hypnotism", but Paul's major claim to fame is as a stage hypnotist (he does other stuff as well; I learned NLP from him and Richard Bandler), so you can expect that the CD is hypnotic. And it is. I just hope it doesn't make my hair as thin as Paul's!!
I have taken to listening to the CD in bed, last thing at night (I hear about 2 mins before I fall asleep!) and first thing in the morning. It's interesting that, at the end of the CD, where he counts 10-1 and says wake up, I do, and then I turn the light out and go straight back to sleep, and get the best night's sleep for ages. I hear the whole thing in the morning.
One of the great things in the book is the examples of people who have done it, the most impressive of whom is Maureen Edwards, who went from 28 stone to 10 stone (that's 392lb down to 140lb if you're from the US, or 178kg to 63kg). Check out the pictures; they're inspiring! You can also learn more from Paul's website.
What's exciting me is that I'm just not interested in food until I feel hungry. I haven't had to do a thing except listen to the CD (and read the book, and it's only 140 pages). And I seem to have more energy already. I'm working away, and am suddenly aware that my tummy's rumbling and it's time to eat. Much better than constantly going to the fridge to see what's there. So I seem to have absorbed the golden rules without ANY EFFORT!!
I was going to put the golden rules here, but for heaven's sake ... go spend the six quid and get the book for yourself!
Another interesting thing is that he includes a TFT "craving buster" which he got from Callahan's book, "Tapping the Healer Within". It's like a short-form of EFT: do the normal stuff, but only tap on under-eye (stomach 1), collar-bone (K27), and do the 9-gamut.
If you'd like to try other EFT-type stuff to help with weight loss, check out Gary's website section on weight loss.
What I have been adding in is Donna Eden's five-minute energy routine. I was feeling miserable a couple of week's ago, and Susan recommended Donna's videos. What a blast! It's an energy-raiser just to watch the videos!!! I'm in the queue for Donna's new Energy Medicine Kit when it comes out in April.
Anyway, what the five-minute routine does for me, I'm convinced, is straighten out all the myriad ways my energy and meridians get screwed up. Ever since I discovered EFT and learned about Psychological Reversal (don't know what that is? Check out Silvia Hartman's article on it on the AMT website, or read the articles on emofree) I realised that was why so many of the fabulous things I have studied over the years don't work on me. So ever since then, I have included "unscrambling" techniques before and during whatever process I'm using.
And so now I do the "three thumps", and a whole set of other stuff. I was going to write it all up, but I found a lovely description of it all on Barbara Mallory's site, so why re-invent the wheel? Actually, there's loads of really lovely stuff on that website ... go have a browse!
Well, that's it for today. Susan will be home soon, and is probably hungry, so I better go put the soup on (home-made vegetable soup!) Come back here soon to see if the weight has started tumbling off: I'm aiming for about 60lb or 27kg loss. In the next blog entry, I'll tell you about the Health Rider that Richard and Jacquie loaned me, and how effective that is.

Greatest excitement today is finding Angela Treat Lyon's new EFT Works! forum. It's a great resource; go and visit it, register, logon, use it. I'm thinking of adding a Co-Met thread on there.
Well, I'm down a couple of pounds, maybe! Mind you, Maureen Edwards, who lost 18 stone, took two years to do it,and that's less than a pound a week, so I'm on track! It's just that I want it all, now!
Did loads of gardening, heavy digging etc over the Easter weekend, so that's my exercise for now.
I have been reading Fred Gallo's book, "Energy Psychology: Explorations at the Interface of Energy, Cognition, Behavior, and Health". It's a great book, definitely not just another "here's how to do EFT" type book. It's written for practitioners, but it's not so academic as to make your brain hurt. And it contains some really nice stories and examples to bring things to life.
For instance, there's a lot in there about muscle testing. To most people, when they first see muscle testing (or what Donna Eden calls Energy Testing), it seems off-the-scale of weird. But try this out:
Imagine you're watching a TV drama. It's one of those stories where there has been a traffic accident, and the young policeman has to go and tell the relatives. He knocks on the door, asks to come in ... and the first thing he does is suggest that the relative sits down. Why? Because we all know that emotional or psychological shock causes the muscles to go weak. So why should it be a surprise that someone has noticed this, developed it, and now uses it as a very easy, very powerful diagnostic technique? Brilliant!
And that's all muscle testing is. It's a sensitive way of testing if a muscle goes weak. We can then see if some very subtle things cause a sufficient "shock" to cause the muscle to go weak, for instance being "psychologically reversed" on a particular subject. And that's what's occupying me at the moment, so I'm going to pause this blog here, and develop a whole new page, all about reversals, disorganisations, switched polarity and the like, and how to recognise them and how to fix them.
Watch this space for the new page!

Haven't done that reversals page yet, but I will! Honest! The two things that are exciting me at the moment are that I'm off, tomorrow, to the SEAL conference in Liverpool to attend Donna Eden's Energy Medicine workshop with Donna, David Feinstein, and Madison King. I'm also excited because I think I may have discovered a way to collapse chronic double-bind patterns, which can be amazingly limiting. I'll write up more about that, too. Later.
And I'm now a bit over 2lbs down, so it's still working!
Google's AdSense, crawls web pages, and works out what sort of adverts readers would be interested in. Here's what it makes of all this ...
(Click to see what the advertiser has on offer ... I make (miniscule) amounts of money every time some clicks the link, even if you don't buy anything!!
It goes without saying that I don't endorse any of these ads!)
